Charlestown is often considered the “Hub” of the Hunter, due to its rapid growth and development with in the area. The Pacific Highway runs through the centre of Charlestown leading north and south which provides easy access to Newcastle, The Lake areas and through to Sydney and the facilities it offers its residents.

Charlestown and its surrounds includes popular suburbs like, Kahibah, Highfields, Whitebridge, & Dudley and all these suburbs offer wonderful schools, shops, public transport, sporting fields & a swimming pool and as a collective these features are seen to create a strong community and family base.

The population of Charlestown in 2006 was 12,313 people. By 2011 the population was 12,405 showing a population growth of 1% in the area during that time.
